Principal's Corner

Wendy Godwin

After serving for four years as assistant principal at Wildflower Elementary, I am now privileged to be the principal of Wildflower Elementary. I have been able to watch the success of Wildflower students over the years and I am very proud to be a part of that success. I want to ensure parents and students that academic excellence and high expectations will continue at Wildflower. The staff at Wildflower has a commitment to high academic achievement and a commitment to student success and has proven this time and time again. Our core beliefs help us to drive instruction and ensure that all students reach their full potential and are college ready.

I received my bachelor degree in education and master's degree as a Reading Specialists from Valdosta State University in Georgia and my principal licensure from UCCS in Colorado Springs. Before that I taught eight years in elementary school in Georgia and eight years in Colorado Springs. During my teaching career I have also been a Literacy Coach. Teaching is my passion and I myself am a life-long learner.

I have two beautiful daughters and enjoy spending time with them. Georgia Bulldogs are my favorite college football team. Go Dawgs!! I enjoy all outdoor sports, especially jet skiing and hiking. I am honored to be the principal of a great school in a great school district. I look forward to a successful year at Wildflower!

Increasing Learning for ALL,
